Mid-Side Processor
The MS (Mid-Side) audio processor provides advanced stereo imaging and spatial effects.
What is Mid-Side Processing?
Section titled “What is Mid-Side Processing?”Mid-Side processing separates audio into:
- Mid: The center/mono content (vocals, bass, lead instruments)
- Side: The stereo content (reverb tails, panned instruments, spatial effects)
By adjusting the balance between mid and side, you can dramatically change the spatial characteristics of any track.
Effects
Section titled “Effects”The MS processor supports multiple effects that can be applied independently to the mid and side channels:
- Stereo width control
- Channel balance
- Multi-effect processing chains
Use Cases
Section titled “Use Cases”- Widen the stereo image: Boost the side channel for a more immersive sound
- Focus on vocals: Boost the mid channel to bring vocals forward
- Create ambient mixes: Reduce mid and boost side for a spacious, atmospheric feel
- Karaoke-like effect: Reduce the mid channel to attenuate centered vocals

Part of the Audio Chain
Section titled “Part of the Audio Chain”The MS processor is part of the full audio effects chain alongside the Equalizer and Reverb. All three can be saved together as an audio preset.
